ADA’s CoPilot for Ecommerce

The AI Support to Boost Profitability and Strengthen Brands’ Competitive Edge in the Ecommerce Landscape

Shah Theagarajan & Prabhat Agarwal

To stay ahead in the competitive ecommerce game, brands are turning to AI to drive growth and profitability. As a partner to over 100 brands, ADA is no exception in developing AI solutions to meet this need. Earlier this year, ADA launched its CoPilot for Ecommerce, an AI tool equipped with tailored features for every aspect of online retail. To learn more about this game-changing solution, we spoke with ADA’s Head of Data Analytics, Prabhat Agarwal, and Head of Product & Data Operations, Shah Theagarajan.

A brand is about to launch a new product. Here’s a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes:

All hyped up, their Marketing department is pumped with creative juices flowing. Promotional ideas are plenty, and the positive public response fuels their enthusiasm. A tight timeline has been set, with a significant budget allocated for advertising and promotions. The Supply Chain team, however, working with outdated data, is unaware of the campaign’s scale and unable to forecast the raw material needed accurately. On the other side, the Finance department remains uninformed about the exact costs, as expedited supply chain efforts incur additional expenses. Discrepancies in their financial forecast and unplanned logistics expenses disrupt actual financial planning. Unaware of the current resource constraints, the Business Development team continues to pitch new market opportunities using outdated data from the Supply Chain and Finance departments.

The Marketing department continues to push the campaign, clueless that the supply and budget are stretched to the limit.

Meanwhile, excited customers are confronted with the unavailability of the product, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. Their excitement, previously high, is now dampened by the limited availability of products.

While the departments collaborate cross-functionally, they, in fact, operate in silos. Everyone is in the dark, using specialised systems and platforms tailored to their specific needs.

The scenario illustrated may seem extreme, but in today’s competitive "you snooze, you lose" digital commerce market, even a minor misalignment can result in losing golden opportunities to close deals. Recognising the magnitude of these challenges and the high stakes in such a fast-paced market inspired the development of CoPilot for Ecommerce.

Before ADA’s AI CoPilot, multiple teams relied on multiple apps to collaborate: programming and development tools, project management platforms, data analysis and visualisation apps, and communication and collaboration software. Despite significant investment in these solutions, inefficiencies persisted, often resulting in losses of time, wasted resources, and decreased customer satisfaction.

Today, ADA’s suite of AI-driven CoPilots presents a unified solution designed to overcome these challenges. By exploring the features, capabilities, integration, compatibility, ROI, and privacy controls, Prabhat and Shah explain how these CoPilots can streamline clients’ workflows and processes.

Meet ADA CoPilot for Ecommerce

ADA’s suite of AI-driven CoPilots—designed for Ecommerce Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance—aims to transform the ecommerce landscape by meeting the unique needs of each department.

ADA’s CoPilot for Ecommerce leverages an AI-driven analytics platform to provide an integrated data overview. It uses machine learning and data analysis to optimise operations with various advanced features. By offering real-time insights, predictive analytics, and automated workflows, the CoPilot for Ecommerce ensures that all departments are on the same page to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

“Over the years, we have managed and grown over 200 brands. Nearly every one of them faces the same overarching challenges,” says Prabhat Agarwal, Head of Data Analytics at ADA, who has been developing Data and AI solutions and solving Data challenges for clients across industries for over 20 years.

“To address common ecommerce challenges illustrated above, we have developed four core CoPilots: CoPilot for Ecommerce Business, CoPilot for Ecommerce Marketing, CoPilot for Ecommerce Supply Chain, and CoPilot for Ecommerce Finance. Each of these CoPilots integrates AI-driven predictive and prescriptive solutions to boost productivity and enhance decision-making,” adds Prabhat.

Features & Capabilities

Diverse in capabilities, each feature of the CoPilot is crafted with specific personas in mind to address common pain points, ensuring smoother, more efficient ecommerce operations.

“The features and capabilities of ADA CoPilot for Ecommerce are precisely tailored to address our clients’ unique challenges, providing actionable insights and streamlined operations that drive success,” notes Prabhat Agarwal.

The CoPilot for Ecommerce Business leverages unified performance insights for proactive campaign optimisation, so the Head of Ecommerce and Ecommerce Lead can use predictive demand modelling and budget impact analysis to ensure optimal ad spend and maximise GMV.

The CoPilot for Supply Chain provides real-time data to enhance operational scalability and inventory management, so the Logistics Director and Chief Operations Officer can save sales opportunities and lower warehousing costs.

For the Chief Marketing Officer and Digital Marketing Director, the CoPilot for Ecommerce Marketing offers instant, comprehensive access to business health insights, so they can use the Pricing Elasticity feature to optimise pricing strategies, maximising revenue without sacrificing sales volume.

Lastly, the CoPilot for Ecommerce Finance avoids delayed payments and ineffective working capital management by providing accurate, integrated financial data from multiple channels, so the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Director can refer to the consolidated report, ensuring smoother operations and increased liquidity.

How long does full integration take, and what does it entail?

Implementation designed to optimise workflows, with clear timelines, defined responsibilities, and a structured process for smooth implementation across all teams.

While the benefits of the CoPilots are clear, it’s natural to have concerns about potential disruptions to current operations, data inconsistencies, and the time frame required for successful implementation. To ensure a smooth integration, ADA has designed a two-phased approach:

Phase 1: The Discovery phase (3 months)

ADA will work closely with a client’s departments to understand their existing systems and workflows. This phase is crucial for identifying their unique needs and potential challenges of integration.

Phase 2: Onboarding and Execution (5 to 6 months)

During this period, comprehensive training and ongoing technical support will be provided to ensure effective usage of the new system. ADA helpdesk will be available to resolve any operational issues quickly, ensuring the client’s teams are empowered using ADA’s CoPilots.

“Its seamless integration with existing systems is a game-changer. The transition is smooth, and the immediate improvements in the workflow are evident,” says Shah Theagarajan, ADA’s Head of Product & Data Operations.

Throughout this process, 70% of the effort is dedicated to data preparation—extracting, cleaning, and normalising structured and unstructured data to ensure it's consistent and ready for analysis. This critical work, though time-consuming, is essential for creating a centralised database, providing a single source of truth for all departments.

Is the CoPilot for Ecommerce compatible with client’s existing platforms?

Seamless compatibility with a wide range of platforms ensures that the client’s existing systems work harmoniously, minimising disruptions and facilitating a smooth transition.

Addressing concerns about platform compatibility, CoPilot for Ecommerce is designed to integrate seamlessly with a wide range of ecommerce platforms like Lazada, Shopee, TikTok, Shopify, Tokopedia, and more. This ensures smooth data flow and operational synergy, preventing disruptions and delivering immediate value.

As CoPilots evolve through human training and machine learning, each update and upgrade after integration remains a work in progress over time.

“We’re thrilled about the exciting developments on the horizon. Our plans include introducing enhanced AI-driven features that will provide deeper customer insights, more sophisticated predictive analytics, and AI-prescriptive analytics,” notes Shah.

Return On Investment

Delivering a strong return on investment, ADA CoPilot has consistently driven measurable business growth, as demonstrated by the success story below.

One of ADA’s clients has reported substantial improvements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. For example, a leading digital-first 'House of Brands' in the fashion industry faced inaccuracies and delays in obtaining business insights for decision-making. They also lacked data visibility from their managed brands’ ecommerce platforms and marketplaces.

After integrating ADA’s CoPilot, they automated their analytics reporting, which led to a fivefold increase in revenue. They streamlined their manual processes by 20% and reduced working capital blockage by 90%.

Additionally, creating a modern data platform on Databricks eliminated the need for manual data collection, improving data accuracy and readiness for advanced analysis. These initiatives have driven substantial business growth and efficiency improvements.

Privacy & Access Controls

Robust privacy and data protection measures to safeguard client’s business and customer information.

Data privacy and security are top priorities when adopting a new system. With CoPilot for Ecommerce, ADA ensures that client’s data remains secure and within their control.

ADA CoPilot for Ecommerce leverages Databricks and S3 to ensure only authorised personnel can access sensitive data. Meanwhile, data processing on S3 is fully managed under ADA’s account, giving their clients full ownership and control over their data without involving third parties.

Understandably, numerous factors are considered before adoption. Despite initial concerns and skepticism about the investment value, early adopters of this CoPilot are poised to reap significant rewards from embracing this innovative tool.

With each CoPilot aims to break down silos and foster seamless collaboration between departments, here’s what would happen instead during a product launch:

The Marketing department strategises campaigns while the Supply Chain team receives real-time demand forecasts, aligning procurement plans with marketing initiatives. The Finance department tracks and forecasts expenses accurately using real-time data from the Supply Chain and Marketing teams, so that the CFO and Finance Director can avoid delayed payments and enhance working capital management. Meanwhile, the Business Development team can develop strategies based on up-to-date information from all departments. At the same time, the Head of Ecommerce and Ecommerce Lead can leverage unified performance insights for proactive campaign optimisation, ensuring optimal ad spend, and maximising GMV.

The results? Excited customers remained engaged and eager for more.

When departments operate with coordinated efforts, enterprises can march forward efficiently, reducing delays, improving customer satisfaction, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Early adoption is key to staying ahead.
